Zocalo is an eclectic

Zocalo was founded. Frustrated by a lack of furnishing
choices at home and inspired by a recently purchased
rustic armoire, founders Jeremy Sommer and Derry Conran
traveled to Oaxaca, Mexico in search of inspiration.
They found beauty in both the furniture and the town
square or "zocalo" of Oaxaca. With a plan to source
suppliers with rustic hardwood furniture and a great
name for a home furnishings company, Derry and Jeremy
returned home to create Zocalo in March 1995.
As resources grew and ideas abounded, they took what
they had learned and began to design their own
collections with great success, adapting traditional
styles to meet the needs of the modern American
lifestyle. Since 1995, Zocalo product line has expanded
to include 14 hardwood furniture collections and a wide
variety of leather pieces. Every new collection that
Zocalo creates is driven by the same goal as on day one:
to search for only beautiful furnishings that they would
want in their own homes. Zocalo's goal for customer's
homes is the same as the goal for their own, to make
them beautiful, elegant, and comfortable.
